  • "Battle of Tyr/Odin's Court/Valhalla" is a great triad that carries you through a lot of moods and melodies, and builds perfectly from one piece to the next. It's a fantastic mini-suite. "Tyr's" other highlights are "The Sabbath Stones" and "Jerusalem." There really isn't a bad song on this album/5().

  • Apr 29,  · Come , Tony Iommi’s Sabbath Rainbow Snake were in full stride. Following the listless period of Born Again and Seventh Star, the band had solidified around the vocals and lyrics of one Tony Martin—who, by the way, made it to 3 Black Sabbath albums before Dio—and the propulsive crash-bang-boom of Cozy new album was never going to unseat the affections of long .

  • Too bad it was dissolved by Dehumanizer, a record, while recorded better sonically, yet doesn’t hold up as a album like TYR with it’s linear vision and style. Best tracks are Anno Mundi and the trilogy Odin’s Court/Battle of Tyr/Valhalla; worst are the passable Heaven’s in Black and the silly Feels Good To Me. A great (and rare) album!
  • 'Odin's Court' is a lovely 'kind-of' ballad, very short but again keeps the tone of the album well. And it segues straight into the awesome monster that is 'Valhalla'. This is another of the outstanding tracks here, but it is sadly the last. 'Feels Good to Me' is a nice little mid-paced rocker but it's not excellent/5().
  • Tyr (/ ˈ t ɪər /) (stylized as ᛏᛉᚱ) is the fifteenth studio album by English rock band Black Sabbath, released in August by I.R.S. Records.. The album title, and several song titles, allude to Norse mythology, which led many to call Tyr a concept album, although bassist Neil Murray dispelled that in , stating that while many of the songs may seem loosely related, very little.
  • “The Battle of Tyr/Odin’s Court/Valhalla” is a glowing example of Sabbath’s progressive roots, going through some rather intricate musical changes and ideas. The first track is an instrumental keyboard prelude that could easily be included in a 80s Sci-Fi/Fantasy film score.
  • Odin's Court Lyrics: As you walk alone the night surrounds you like a shroud / The dreams you had were once of love and being proud / Misty horizons block your vision of the world / But the raven's.
